Meet Maggie and Ashe!

Maggie and Ashe, certified HABIT dogs, are more than furry friends—they're a vital part of West View's supportive environment. Trained through the Human-Animal Bond in Tennessee (HABIT) program, these pups provide comfort, reduce stress, and help students feel safe and confident as they navigate their school day. Whether offering a calming presence in the classroom, greeting students with a wagging tail or being a reading buddy, they remind everyone at WVES that learning thrives when support and care are part of the day.

There’s a famous quote that says, 'In this building….we do second chances. We do real. We do mistakes. We do I’m sorry. We do loud really well. We do hugs. We do family best of all.' That's the feeling I get when I walk in and see the children being hugged and told they are loved when they have learned something new, done a great deed or messed up. It’s like a family, perfectly flawed.cindee peters, school counselor
My favorite thing about school is learning how to be a good friend and having a great teacher who makes math fun. H. Henry, Grade 3

From the moment I walked in, it was obvious that West View isn't just a school-it's a community. The culture is warm, joyful, and relentlessly focused on helping every student succeed. You can feel the energy in every classroom and hallway.Principal for A Day, Community Member
